I always love to hear about how people spend the night before their wedding. Truthfully, I had never thought about it too much. Some people spend the night apart from their future spouse. Others spend it with their girlfriends and have a big slumber party. One friend made a Walmart run at 1am when she had to be up at 5am to get ready!
We didn’t really plan anything for our pre-wedding night besides our rehearsal + dinner, but somehow ended up staying up until 3am. We had our wedding party in our suite to give them their gifts and they stayed until about midnight or so, and then I made Yung put together another easel with me (has anyone else gotten wooden art easels from Hobby Lobby? They come with absolutely no instructions). Then I think we ate for the first time that day (did anyone else get so nervous they couldn’t eat during their wedding week???). Then we started practicing our first dance in our room. Then Yung started practicing his toast with me and he told me he was going to sing me a song at the reception!!!! Which no, he never did, because we ran out of time the next day, but I got to hear it on our honeymoon! I think by then, we were too excited to sleep anyway, and had to be up around 8am to start getting ready.
It’s comical to think about a year later, but honestly, amidst all the fun, we were stressed, kind of out of our comfort zone, and just plain nervous! I did love having everyone close with us the night before though. Wish we all lived in the same part of the country, but it just makes moments like these that much sweeter. What did you do the night before your wedding?
XOXO
