Happy October 1st! I just wanted to say “hi” and wow, it’s been forever since I’ve written here. I’ve started so many drafts, and unfortunately, I’ve had an issue with finishing things that I start, and it’s something that I am actively working on. It happens around the house when I start to fold laundry and then bring laundry to Jack’s room, and then start dusting his dresser, and decide to vacuum. Then I pick up in the living room, while there are still stacks of clothes waiting to be put away. I am acknowledging it and seeing that it drives me crazy and leaves me feeling tired and unproductive, like I did a whole lot, but I never really finished one thing.
I think it comes from years of multitasking and having to do so much at once time and think about multiple things at once for my job.
My blog is one whole unfinished task. I never finished writing about our wedding (almost 5 YEARS LATER!) and there is a lost year immediately after we got married where we were traveling every other month, that I also never wrote about. I come from a career where if you don’t write it down, it didn’t happen, so in the very back of my mind, my little space on the internet is my work in progress that I can never catch up on.
This website needs some serious TLC, but I am going to start jotting down things here and there and sharing some memories just so things don’t completely fade away. Is it bad that I am starting to forget things that happened in college? Or even in the time immediately following nursing school, those years working in the hospital are starting to fade. Maybe it doesn’t matter, but it’s nice to have something to look back on every so often. A few weeks ago, I checked out a book from the library and was very excited to read it. I started reading and a few pages in realized I had already read it. I read it all the way through again anyway. Clearly, I need some help!
Anyway, I am going to start sharing some life on here again. Maybe some recipes, Jack updates and stories, book and shows I am watching, and more fun. I am going to re-do the website, figure out how to change my 5 year old profile picture, and bring some life back to love, life, & lists. Hope you have a happy start to the Halloween season! (also we celebrate 2 special bdays and our anniversary—whohoo!)
xoxo Connie
